What is the Reel Estate MCP server?

The Reel Estate MCP server is a Model Context Protocol connector that lets an AI assistant like Claude create real estate marketing media. Built on Anthropic's open MCP standard, it turns listing photos into staged images and cinematic video from inside the chat. It is the first MCP server built for real estate video marketing.

Instead of switching to a separate app, you ask the assistant in plain language and Reel Estate does the work: virtual staging, twilight edits, drone-style aerial clips, voiceover, and a rendered, posting-ready listing video.

How do I connect Claude to Reel Estate?

Three steps: add the server, sign in through the browser, and ask for a video. No API keys, no build step.

1

Add the server

Run the one-line install in Claude Code, or paste the config block into Claude Desktop or Cursor. One command, no build step.

2

Sign in via browser

A browser window opens for OAuth sign-in with PKCE. No API keys to copy, nothing long-lived stored on your machine.

3

Ask for a video

Tell the assistant what you want, "stage this room" or "render a 30-second reel", and Reel Estate creates it and returns the file.

bash
claude mcp add reel-estate -- npx -y reel-estate-mcp

Run this in your terminal, then sign in when your browser opens.

What can you create with it?

Virtual staging

Ask Claude to furnish an empty room from a listing photo in any interior style, and get a photorealistic staged image back.

AI virtual staging

Twilight conversion

Turn a flat daytime exterior into a warm twilight shot, the single most clicked photo on most listings, from one request.

twilight and seasonal edits

Drone-style aerial clips

Generate an AI aerial, drone-style clip from a photo and the address. No pilot, no license, disclosed as AI media.

AI real estate drone video

Voiceover and music

Narrate the walkthrough in a cloned or off-the-shelf voice with a script drafted from the listing, then score it with music.

AI voiceovers

Timeline editing

Assemble clips into a listing video with motion, transitions, and a simple reorder, all driven from the conversation.

Social-ready rendering

Render vertical, square, or horizontal exports for Reels, TikTok, YouTube, and MLS, posting-ready in minutes.

What do you say to it?

Talk to it the way you would a teammate. Copy a prompt to try, then swap in your own photos and address.

Virtual staging

Stage the empty living room in this photo in a warm midcentury modern style, then show me the result.

Twilight

Convert the exterior shot of 123 Maple St to a twilight photo for the listing.

Drone-style aerial

Create a drone-style aerial clip of this property from the front photo and the address 123 Maple St.

Turn these 12 listing photos into a 30-second vertical walkthrough video with music, ready for Instagram Reels.

Why listing video matters

Rich visual media is now the default in real estate marketing, not a luxury. NAR's 2025 Technology Survey found that 52% of agents use drone photography or video (NAR, 2025), and video walkthroughs have become a baseline expectation for buyers scrolling listings on their phones.

The staged look drives the same response. NAR's 2025 Profile of Home Staging found that 83% of buyers' agents said staging makes it easier for buyers to picture a property as their future home (NAR, 2025). Producing that media used to mean a videographer, a stager, and a drone pilot. The MCP server puts all three inside the AI assistant you already use.

Is it secure?

Yes. Reel Estate signs you in with browser-based OAuth 2.0 and PKCE, the same standard consumer apps use. There are no API keys to paste into a config file and no long-lived secret stored on your machine. The bridge that connects your assistant to Reel Estate is open source under the MIT license, so you can read exactly what it does.

What does it cost?

The open-source bridge is free and MIT-licensed, and a free Reel Estate account lets you connect and explore. Generating and rendering media consumes credits: the free tier includes 30 credits and 3 free exports, so you can create your first staged image or clip at no cost. Paid plans unlock more generation and rendering.

No pricing wall is hidden behind the install. See full pricing and credit math for what each plan includes.

A note on AI-generated media

Staging, twilight, and drone-style aerial output are AI-generated and must be labeled. Drone-style clips are AI aerial video, not real drone footage. Reel Estate applies an AI-Generated label on export so the disclosure travels with the file. See AI disclosure compliance for the current state and MLS rules.

Frequently asked questions

What is an MCP server?

An MCP server is a small program that connects an AI assistant like Claude to an outside tool or service using the Model Context Protocol, Anthropic's open standard. Once connected, you ask the assistant in plain language and it runs actions in that service for you, with no separate app or copy-paste.

Does Reel Estate work with Claude Desktop and Claude Code?

Yes. Reel Estate runs in both Claude Desktop and Claude Code. Add the server with a one-line command in Claude Code, or a small config block in Claude Desktop, sign in through your browser, and ask Claude to stage a room or render a listing video from your photos.

Does it work with Cursor and other MCP clients?

Yes. Reel Estate follows the standard Model Context Protocol, so it works in any MCP client, including Cursor. Add the same mcpServers config block your client uses, sign in once through the browser, and the Reel Estate tools become available to the assistant in that editor.

Do I need an API key?

No. Reel Estate uses a browser-based OAuth 2.0 sign-in with PKCE instead of API keys. The first time you use a tool, a browser window opens for you to sign in to your Reel Estate account. Nothing is copied into a config file, and no long-lived key is stored on your machine.

Is the MCP server free?

The open-source bridge is free and MIT-licensed, and a free Reel Estate account lets you explore. Generating and rendering media consumes credits: the free tier includes 30 credits and 3 free exports, and paid plans add more. Connecting is free, and you only spend credits when you create.

Can it do virtual staging from Claude?

Yes. Ask Claude to stage a room from a listing photo and Reel Estate furnishes it in your chosen interior style, then returns the staged image. It is the same AI virtual staging as the web app, driven by a plain-language request instead of clicking through the interface.

Can it create drone-style aerial video?

Yes. Reel Estate can generate a drone-style aerial clip from a listing photo and the property address. It is AI-generated, not real drone footage, so it is labeled as AI media on export. There is no physical drone, pilot, or Part 107 license involved.

What video formats does it render?

Reel Estate renders vertical 9:16 for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, square 1:1 for feeds, and horizontal 16:9 for YouTube and MLS. Ask for the aspect ratio you want and the assistant renders a posting-ready file in that format.

Is AI-generated listing media allowed on the MLS?

AI-altered listing media is generally allowed when it is disclosed. A growing list of state laws and MLS rules require you to label digitally altered or AI-generated photos and video. Reel Estate applies an AI-Generated label on export. See our AI disclosure guide for the current rules.

How is this different from real-estate data MCP servers?

Most real estate MCP servers fetch data: listings, comps, or market stats. Reel Estate produces the marketing media instead. It turns your listing photos into staged images and cinematic video from inside the assistant, so it complements a data server rather than competing with it.

Go deeper: read the virtual staging guide, explore AI real estate video, learn the AI disclosure rules, or view the server on GitHub and npm.
